Levels of the Hive

My business model is not quite like other people in the field, but I suppose I'm not like others in my field either.

I charge a flat rate for the full course, which includes a year of access to the Curiosity Experience.

Each experience includes access to either a Maths, English or physics course and then different amounts of lessons per week and one to one lessons based on the experience you choose.

The different experiences are leveled according to the amount of monthly access you get to me.  Because the courses aren't just created an left, they are coupled with group lessons, feedback sessions, one to one classes and exam prep sessions.

Here goes my elevator pitch.

We all know how it goes, we spend about R5000 to write a Cambridge subject, that excludes any additional accomodations you might need, the diagnosis and the forms to get the accomodations, so you might end up paying about R10000 per subject.  So you think that you can't really afford too much support (this is if you are not at a school), so you go for the cheapest hourly rate you can find to just tell you where you are going wrong.2 months away from the exam, you realise that you did not prepare enough because you went for the bare minimum so that you could afford to write International exams.  I mean, I get it, it is unfortunately a tax that us plebians sometimes need to pay.

This is the effect though: your child does the bare minimum throughout the year, working through only the textbook or only past papers, working furiously towards a goal so that the exam can get behind them and they can move onto university, which costs about R150 000 per year. You have either spent a bunch of money for them to barely pass, get into university by the skin of their teeth and schooling years get put into the trauma box due to the lack of support. or you spent the money and they failed and have to rewrite in a hurry, again they have limited time and their search history is filled with questions about preventing burnout.

To me, it isn't about the money that you spenmd, it is about the fact that many parents are willing to make accomodations so that their children have a scribe for the exam, but they aren't willing or aware that they should make accomodations for the fact that British International Exams generally require 160 teaching hours, and while it is fully possible to do this without a teacher, it takes a curious student to be able to truly engage with the content in a meaningful enough way for them to thrive, enjoy themselves and excel academically without needing therapy in their thirties because homeschooling was not the best decision for them.

This is becoming more than an elevator pitch, but I think someone needs to be honest about this, and whether you decide to work with me or someone else, what you choose to do for your child's education is ultimately  up to you.

Based on this, I offer different learning experiences — all of them cover the content fully, but more importantly, it transforms them into curious students who want to learn, know how to learn, ask the right questions and can apply this through all their studies, from their IGCSE, to AS, to A level, to Undergraduate, to Honours, to Masters, to Doctorate, to life where they possibly raise children who are curious from the get go and know how to be self starters.  Education is a great gift, but curiosity is an even greater gift that has far deeper reach into your children's lives.

The experiences are differentiated according to the amount of access you get to me and the amount of feedback you get from me (because I have limited time).  Regardless of which option you choose though, you will have full access to my ever growing, living course (you may choose between IGCSE English, AS English, A level English, IGCSE Maths, IGCSE Physics, AS Physics) that I am constantly adding to, building, growing with and adding my passion to. The Whole Honeycomb Experience and Queen Bee Experience also includes my exam prep sessions and courses while the Worker Bee and Mason Bee can purchase these separately.
